Pew Research Center data may show race discrimination

Race discrimination can be harmful to many people. It does not matter if you are one of our Florida readers or not, nothing changes the fact that discrimination at the workplace can be a serious issue.

Many people are unaware that race discrimination remains such a big problem in the United States. While the country has come a long way over the years, there are still far too many people who discriminate against others because of their race.

Last year, the Pew Research Center discussed how far the United States has come since the March on Washington in 1963. However, the research group goes on to add, "The unemployment rate among blacks is about double that among whites, as it has been for most of the past six decades."

This does not mean that the sole reason for this gap is race discrimination, however, it is easy to believe that this has to play some part.

According to an analysis of Census data, the unemployment gap emerged sometime during the 1940s, and for one reason or the next it has yet to even out over the years.

Race discrimination remains a big problem in the United States, which is backed up by the number of claims by employees and applicants as well as statistics such as those reported by the Pew Research Center.

A person, regardless of race, has the right to apply for a job and not have to worry about being discriminated against. The same holds true for a current employee of a company. If individuals are discriminated against, they may be able to take action against the employer.
