Two women who worked at an auto accessory shop in Pompano Beach have filed a lawsuit against their former boss, who is accused of spying on them with a hidden video camera while they were in the women's bathroom.
Spencer Krumholz, marketing director of World Imports International, was arrested last month over allegedly drilling a small hole in the ceiling of a women's restroom and setting up a video camera to watch its occupants.
On Feb. 21, Angelique Wong noticed the tiny camera and called Broward Sheriff's Office deputies to investigate. But as the deputy went to investigate where the camera wires led, Krumholz, 63, ran to his office, an arrest report said.
The deputy "followed shortly after and observed Krumholz pulling wires from behind his office cabinet and wall," according to a search warrant filed in Broward circuit court.
Wong was fired the next day, and another woman, Barbara Lin, was forced to quit, said William Julien, the women's attorney.
Both are suing for invasion of privacy and mental anguish, according to the lawsuit filed this week. "The conduct was totally outrageous," Julien said. "They were secretly spied on in the women's bathroom, and when they reported it to the authorities, they were terminated."
Krumholz has already pleaded not guilty to charges of voyeurism and tampering with evidence. He faces up to five years in prison.
His attorney, Domenic Grosso, did not return phone calls Thursday.
